Media Alert: GIWUSA Strikes at Clover
The strike at Clover started yesterday and it involves more than 2000 members of GIWUSA nationally.
The police have already responded with brutality and more is expected.
The national leadership of GIWUSA addressed the mass picket of its members at Clayville depot at 9pm. GIWUSA are striking for a 16% wage increase or R8000 minimum wage, and an end to labour broking.
GIWUSA is also inviting working class and community organisations to a Zoom meeting to build solidarity support for the striking workers. Do not Buy Clover Products!!
The delegation includes the national President, Mametlwe Sebei, and General Secretary, John Appolis. The Zoom meeting will be held at 4pm today (Wednesday 14 Oct).
